Biographical / Historical:

The Indian Lake Sunshine Club was a neighborhood social club created by and for the women of the Indian Lake community. Members socialized and connected with their neighbors; made goods including clothing, toys, and rugs; and participated in study courses. Early membership increased rapidly, and an early member wrote that the club “filled a long-felt want.” Founding members included Mrs. E. Cragun, Mrs. Ferguson, Mrs. G. Darr, Miss Luella Darr, and Mrs. Joe Kern.
