Marian Anderson grew up in rural Minnesota. Her father was an avid hunter and taught her much about wildlife from a young age. A lifelong appreciation of wildlife is visible in her artwork. Set in the background of their natural surroundings, the animals come to life. Deer and timber wolves among the dense trees. Loons, swans and mallards on glassy lakes. Cardinals on snow covered branches.

"The World Record typical whitetail was found by Robert Ludwig at a Sandstone, Minnesota rummage sale in 1964 and believed to be a Minnesota trophy. Ludwig's distant relative, James Jordan, (who shot the deer near Danbury, Wisconsin, 50 years earlier) claimed his long-lost trophy for its rightful home."

"The snow leopard has a reputation for being shy and secretive. With his dense smoky gray fur dappled with black rosettes and icy green eyes, few people are lucky enough to glimpse the cat in his natural habitat in the remote and rugged mountains of inner Asia. An aura of mystery surrounds the elusive snow leopard, one of the rarest of the world's large, endangered cats."
