Join us for a captivating evening of music and history at The Wine Cafe for a special Live Music Event on Thursday, September 21, 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. Delight in the soulful tunes of local musician Peter Klug while supporting future Blue Earth County Historical Society projects.
Southern Minnesota singer-songwriter, Peter Klug, blends folk, blues & country to create his un-paralleled sound. Influenced by a myriad of guitarists and story-telling musicians throughout his life, Pete’s music is an autobiography of love, loss & gritty commonality for those listening.
Music will be played on the patio if weather allows or inside if it the weather is not cooperating, tickets are $15. This event coincides with the Music & Memories exhibit now on display at the History Center.

History After Hours

The Blue Earth County History Center is delighted to announce a special History After Hours on Wednesday, September 27, from 6 – 9pm. This exciting evening of live music, delicious food and entertaining History Center exhibitions is in conjunction with the PreserveMN 2023 conference being held in Mankato September 27-29.
Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the fascinating History Center exhibits including the new “Music and Memories: A Look Back at the Mankato Music Scene”, listen to live music by the local band Bee Balm Fields, and enjoy the culinary delights of local food truck Pizza Karma.
Museum admission and live music are free and open to the public; food truck purchases not included. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, music lover, or simply looking for a beautiful evening out, History After Hours promises to be an entertaining experience for everyone.

Blue Earth County Cemetery Self-Guided Audio Tours

Tickets $10/tour per household/email
The Blue Earth County Historical Society invites you to visit Glenwood Cemetery, Minneopa Cemetery, and Calvary Cemetery (Mankato) like you’ve never done before with these unique tours. These self-guided audio tours feature historic photos and great stories about the cemeteries and some of their residents. All available on your smartphone or mobile device. You also have the choice to view online from the comfort of your own home and/or walk the cemeteries for an in-person experience.

Step back in time to the era of Prohibition, flappers, gangsters and Jazz music. With its unique historic vibe, the Speakeasy is the Historical Society’s signature party with a purpose. This one-of-a-kind event includes dinner, cocktails, games of chance and much more.
