 Biographical / Historical:

George H. Brewster was born in Connecticut and came to Mankato where he became involved in the insurance, abstract, and machinery business with his cousin, John N. Hall, under the firm Hall & Brewster. He was involved in education in Blue Earth County as the Secretary of the Board of Education.

Carrie A. and Grace Brewster, daughters of George H. Brewster, were born and raised in Mankato. They pursued education at the Mankato State Teachers College and Mankato Normal School, respectively, and both taught at Mankato public schools. Carrie taught elementary education at Pleasant Grove School and sewing and home economics at Franklin School.
