Dr. Roger Nichols is an Emeritus Professor of History in the Department of American Indian Studies at the University of Arizona. He earned his PhD in US History from UW-Madison. Over the course of a career spanning five decades, Dr. Nichols has taught at eight different universities in the United States and Germany. He is today among the foremost experts on Native American history. He has published more than a dozen academic monographs, two of which have passed through six editions. He has been awarded multiple prizes for his publications, four Fulbright awards, and has been named a Distinguished Lecturer from the Organization of American Historians and, most recently, was honored with an American Indian History Lifetime Achievement Award.
